In 2002, Don and Charlene Stolo purchased 53 acres of
property located at the mouth of the Santa Rosa Valley
along the Central Coast
of California. The property had an existing 9-acre
vineyard planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah.
Soon after buying the
property, they were faced with the following choices:
they could continue to sell the crop to local winemakers
or they could take the
next step and produce their own wine.
| As Italian-Americans, Don and Charlene had grown up with
wine and food as an integral part of family and
celebration. During their
childhood, both Don and Charlene, living in the eastern
United States, had grandparents who purchased grapes
from California. Every year,
the families would make their own wine in the basements
of their homes. Recalling many stories of this family
tradition, they decided to follow in
their relatives' footsteps and make estate wines from
their small vineyard. In 2004, with help from their three children and
neighbors, Don and Charlene harvested their first
vintage from Stolo Family Vineyard. They bottled 176
cases and labeled it TreViti Wines.
Pleased with the quality and progress of the vineyard,
Don and Charlene feel they have created a solid
foundation for a
boutique winery. |

TreViti is Italian for “three
vines” and
was chosen for several reasons.
Proud
of the family's Italian descent,
an
Italian name seemed only
fitting. The
three vines represent their
three children;
Justin, Maria, and Breanna.The
name also reflects the current
three varietals grown on the
property;
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and
Syrah. |

TreViti Wines is very fortunate and proud to have
Stephen Dooley as our
winemaker. Steve, a U.C. Davis graduate, brings over
twenty years of winemaking
experience to our wines. His winemaking career began
with a ten year commitment at
Louis Martini Winery in Napa Valley, one of the early
pioneers of today's
California wine industry. Stephen worked his way up from pommace shoveler
to assistant winemaker. During this time, he also
managed to take on winemaking
stints in both South Africa and Australia.
In 1987,
Dooley moved to California's
Central Coast to become President and Winemaker for the
highly esteemed
Edna Valley Vineyard. After completing seven vintages,
Steve established his own
small wine production company based in San Luis Obispo,
California. He now
produces wine under his own label
Stephen Ross as well as consults as winemaker
for a limited number of Central Coast wineries including
TreViti Wines.
Our winemaker from the beginning, Steve Dooley is a
perfect fit for our boutique winery. He shares our
belief that a hands-on approach is critical to deliver
the highest quality possible. Steve strives to capture
the unique characteristics of our vineyard throughout
the winemaking process.

Bill Kesselring began work to
restructure what is now Stolo Family Vineyard in 2003.
He came to us with a degree from Cal Poly San Luis
Obispo and a decade of consulting in Napa, Sonoma, and
the Central Coast. Bill has consulted for notable
vineyards such as Turley, Talley and Justin. His
dedication and management of vineyards that are
committed to ultra premium quality appealed to us
instantly.
Bill has been invaluable to the shaping of our vineyard.
Too often the contributions of the viticulturist, in the
creation of a superior wine, goes unrecognized. The
Stolo Family not only recognizes, but also appreciates Bill's contribution. |
