The label

The 2004 and 2005 labels were created by graphic designer, Steve Myhre. Steve also is our son-in-law and we feel very fortunate to have his talent in our family.
 
2005 Chardonnay-Stolo Family Vineyard, Central Coast

Aromas of spicy almond and tangerine immediately draw you in. Smooth texture and moderate acidity assist the rich citrus and nutmeg flavors in the mouth. Our 2005 Chardonnay is a bit bolder than our 2004, leaving the mouth will a full bouquet of ripe citrus and spice.

  • Grape analysis - 23.2 ºBrix, 6.85 g/l T.A., 3.57 pH
  • Vineyard: Stolo Family Vineyard
  • Whole-cluster pressed, juice chilled and settled overnight
  • Clarified juice racked to barrels, and inoculated for fermentation.
  • 100% barrel fermented, 100% malolactic fermentation
  • 43% new French oak
  • Fined with organic skimmed milk and bentonite
  • Wine analysis - 13.9% alcohol, 5.94 T.A., 3.68 pH
  • Bottled non-filtered on August 18, 2006
  • 168 cases produced

2005 Pinot Noir - Stolo Family Vineyard, Central Coast

Our 2005 Pinot Noir's deep ruby-brick color is something to see. It's beautiful color is coupled with the delicate aromatics of spice, wood, and Bing cherry. Graceful tannins and a medium body allow red-fruit flavors to linger on the tongue.
  • Harvested by hand on September 14 & 21, 2005
  • Grape analysis - 24.5 ºBrix, 8.60 g/l T.A., 3.50 pH
  • Vineyard: Stolo Family Vineyard
  • 100% destemmed, and crushed into 1.5-ton open top fermentation tank
  • 14 day cuvaison/skin contact;
  • 7 day cold soak @ 55 ºF
  • 7 day fermentation, punched down 3 times per day,
    peak temperature 79 ºF
  • 50% new French oak
  • Racked two times for clarity
  • Wine analysis - 13.8% alcohol, 6.19 T.A., 3.74 pH
  • Bottled non-fined and non-filtered on August 18, 2006
  • 98 cases produced

2005 Pinot Noir - Bien Nacido Vineyard, Santa Maria Valley

With a deep ruby/crimson color and bright cherry and raspberry aroma, this Pinot Noir is undeniably elegant. The soft, silky tannins allow for an enticing red berry fruit expression.

  • Vineyard: Bien Nacido Vineyard
  • 100% destemmed, and crushed into 1.5-ton open top fermentation tank

  • 7 day cold soak @ 55 ºF
  • 7 day fermentation, punched down 3 times per day, peak temperature 85 ºF
  • 33% new French oak
  • Racked two times for clarity
  • Wine analysis - 14.2% alcohol, 5.63 T.A., 3.49 pH

2005 Syrah - Stolo Family Vineyard, Central Coast

An excitingly robust coastal syrah. Deep red in color and aromatics of leather, briar and plums give way to a wonderfully balanced wine. Lingering flavors of plum and black cherry are rounded out with soft tannins, leaving you wanting more.

  • Grape analysis - 25.0 ºBrix, 6.75 g/l T.A., 3.83 pH
  • Vineyard: Stolo Family Vineyard
  • 100% destemmed, and crushed into 1.5-ton open top fermentation tank
  • 15 day cuvaison/skin contact;
  • 7 day cold soak @ 55 ºF
  • 8 day fermentation, punched down 3 times per day, peak temperature 82 ºF
  • 33% new French oak
  • Racked three times for clarity
  • Wine analysis - 14.6% alcohol, 6.12 T.A., 3.89 pH
  • Bottled non-fined and non-filtered on August 18, 2006
  • 74 cases produced
